Kenya A Great Travel Destination
When imagining a great travel destination, Kenya is usually not at the top of the list. However, it should be. From it’s untamed wildness to it’s sea of color, Kenya is known for the beauty of it’s natural habitat. The culture is another thing that stands out when visiting this destination. Over the centuries there have been waves of migration and this has led this country to be known as one of the most diverse African countries. Kenya has over 40 different ethnic African groups. Some groups include: the Kikuyu, Luhya, Kalenjin tribes, Luo, Kamba, Somali, Kisii, Meru & Embu, Mijikenda, Turkana and Maasai. These groups speak a variety of native languages. The Kenyan language is placed into the following three different categories:a Bantu (Niger-Congo) languages – spoken by65% of people, the Nilo-Saharan group – spoken among another third of the population and the Cushitic language – spoken by almost 3% of the population. Swahili is used as the national language of Kenya and English is considered to be the official language.
